چکیده
Immersive listening systems have grown significantly over the past decade and are now an established area of scientific, artistic, industrial research. However, scarce research has been conducted on musicians' preferences for playing through headphones binaural spatialization with addition head tracking, as opposed to classical stereophonic systems. This comparison is essential optimally support experience others cases remote collaborative playing, individual instrumental practice, recreational music-making using backing tracks, studio recording sessions. In this article, we study musicians a system versus head-tracking composed Ambisonics technology synthesis generalized head-related transfer functions. We two experiments, each 30 expert musicians, where participants were asked rate compare 2 conditions while their instrument either seated or standing. Overall, quantitative qualitative results indicated preference tracking system, higher ratings localization, immersion, social presence, realism, connection other musicians. Moreover, moved heads more in conditions. phenomenon may be explained by engagement arousal due improved auditory experience, alternatively presence embodied music cognition mechanisms that cause degree exploration better understand action–perception loop. These findings highlight need progressing current commercial hardware software used headphones.

High Order Spatial Audio Capture and its Binaural Head-Tracked Playback over Headphones with HRTF Cues
A theory and a system for capturing an audio scene and then rendering it remotely are developed and presented. The sound capture is performed with a spherical microphone array. The sound field at the location of the array is deduced from the captured sound and is represented using either spherical wave-functions or plane-wave expansions. The sound field representation is then transmitted to a r...

متن کاملHead Tracking Using Stereo
A different perspective to head tracking, one of the more studied topics in computer vision is presented here. The heavy reliance of contemporary head trackers on intensity images is countered here. The algorithm presented here, uses stereo data to track the head of a moving subject. This is used to achieve effective and accurate foreground segmentation. The head is modeled as an ellipse and tr...
متن کاملExploring binaural hearing in gerbils (Meriones unguiculatus) using virtual headphones
The Mongolian gerbil (Meriones unguiculatus) has become a key species in investigations of the neural processing of sound localization cues in mammals. While its sound localization has been tested extensively under free-field stimulation, many neurophysiological studies use headphones to present signals with binaural localization cues. The gerbil's behavioral sensitivity to binaural cues, howev...
متن کاملFacial tracking with head pose estimation in stereo vision
Facial tracking is a key step for face modeling, coding and animation. In this paper we present a robust method of facial tracking in stereo vision. We use an efficient representation of 3-D face motion, consisting of global head motion and local facial deformation. Stereo vision is utilized to measure 3-D coordinates of the face, the global and local motion parameters of the tracked face is so...
